Campus and Backbone Cabling

Your backbone has to be the most resilient part of your IT infrastructure and it has to provide the highest bandwidth. At Linx Networks, we have designers who know all the options and how to put them together to give you the best solution for you money. This may be based on copper or fibre, depending on the topology and the distance between nodes. Our knowledge of the hardware options, gained through our accreditations with HP and Cisco, help us in the design process. We take you current and future needs into account.

  • FIBRE DISTANCES
    • We've compiled a list of fibre optic interface standards and have shown the distances that can be transmitted over different types of cable.
  • BLOWN FIBRE
    • With blown fibre, empty tubes are installed and fibre bundles are blown into the tube as required. This gives a high degree of flexibility and choice at the time the fibre cores are installed. It is ideally suited to projects where it is not known at the outset what fibre type or quantity of cores will be required at final implementation. By connecting tubes within a cabling closet, fibres can be blown along existing tubes from one corner of a campus to another.
